I think that the original is a comparison, viz, "Architecture is frozen music," or 
some such.  Never quite got that one; esp. regarding the simplistic comparison of one 
form with another.  Detracts from the significance of either, yes? (And, historically, 
music does pre-date architecture, going back to the days when folk lived in simple 
minor chord structures.)
