>I'm loving that Ben Folds CD. I'm waiting patiently by the mailbox for mine to arrive. After hitting the local Best Buy, and they didn't have any, I just ordered it online. Ben is one of very few contemporary artists that I have just fallen in love with - my son turned me onto him, and he thinks I ordered the CD for him. Ha! I might let him listen to it.
>his cover of "Tiny Dancer" is superb. Lots of similarities between him & >Sir Elton anyway. I have heard this comparison made before, and I just don't get it. The first person that popped into my head upon hearing Ben Folds Five was Randy Newman. That sardonic smart ass wit combined with heart rending poignancy - nothing like Sir Elton, except that he plays the piano. >the Tom Petty really blows. Well, different strokes I guess. I got the Petty CD, and I kinda like it, although I've never been a big fan. I'm even gonna spring for concert tickets - of course, that's really because Jackson Browne is the opening act- but I'm looking forward to the show.
