Well well well I have to say, that I hadn't heard this album for about twenty years, having once loaned out my vinyl copy - never to be seen again. I was recently offered a CD version as a gift, nearly completing my Joni inventory. I'm thrilled, I really am. The music sounds so good, and the two records fit onto one CD!. I remember thinking it was a weird and uneven album - an interesting but flawed jewel. As a young man in my twenties, I couldn't relate to the symphonic interlude in Paprika Plains, for example. Today, it's my favorite song on the album! That's interesting - What changed in the interim? I enjoy all the cuts now. I feel like I've opened up to this music, more attuned to it than ever before. It's a gas. The album is also edgy - not at all an *easy listening* experience. By the way, who's Martha?
