While I dont know this story that you have referred to, I do know people very close to
me that did get both welfare and student loans at the same time....and they had to
pay an emotional price for doing so. ..Perhaps it is only in Ontario. I know that
they had to claim both sources of income to the other agency. It affected how much
they got. Period. End of story. And of course It did cause problems because there was
barely enough money either way. Sad, sad state of affairs . Women trying so hard to
make a better life for themselves and their children are so often faced with horrible
circumstances leading to such heartbreaking endings. I like how things are done in
Holland...ask Uncle John about that.
