That's a really good way to express it. Most of us
don't learn the whole lesson on one take.

Here's where I disagree (in part). Some people can
express themselves very well in writing but have
difficulty talking about things. A silent person isn't
necessarily cold (nor is s/he necessarily strong for
that matter.) If they're silent, but they write a good
love letter, they're probably worth hanging on to. ;}
