One of the many great bands that got lost in the dreck of music called the 
80's was The Dream Syndicate. They put out an excellent and neglected LP 
called "The Days of Wine & Roses" and had a wonderful track called 
"Halloween".

Then there's the Classics IV's "Spooky" which features the lyric "I'll 
propose on Halloween"...
