Seems to me that Jesse is as much a politician as a man of the cloth
but that's a matter of opinion, I suppose.  My rather cynical opinion
on this subject is that Jesse couldn't very well escape owning up to
what he did.  The physical evidence was there and much more compelling
in his case than a stain on a dress.  Sooner or later he would have
been found out if it eventually came down to genetic testing.  A baby
is a much harder thing to deny than a mere allegation.
