My friends call me the GRAMMAR POLICE! LOL I've had many debates about it.
It annoys me when it's gratuitous -- like nudity. There is one lyric of
Joni's, and it happens to be in one of my favorite tunes of all time, and it
always makes me smile in spite of myself:
"Where the hell's that at? If you want me, I'll be in the bar." - Case of You
My mother's reply to "Where the hell's that at?" would be "BETWEEN THE 'A'
AND THE 'T'!!" Ending a sentence with a preposition (especially AT) is one
of my biggest pet peeves!! But Joni can do whatever she wants!!!
Trey (now I'm suddenly feeling self conscious... fearing that if there are
any grammar mistakes in my posts, you'll all send them back to me corrected
in RED!!)
np - Longing Town, Duncan Sheik (I'm loving this record - a lot of the
arrangements remind me of the great stuff on Court and Spark and For the
Roses -- lots of strings and flutes and such... I really like it!! It's very
moody...)
