The 1973 Beach Boys album, Holland, contains a three-part suite called
"California Saga" which contains "Big Sur," "Beaks of Eagles," and
"California."  The first part is easily the best thing that Mike Love ever
composed on his own--- which ordinarily would be not saying much, but it's
actually a really great song.  This is from the period when Carl was
running the group, and they sounded more like CSN or America than they did
like their old selves.
