I've thought about those two many times, also. They were very close in the
old days (in a good affinity way) and he is just so reverentially gaga over
her talents and artistry that I imagine he could enhance her and wouldn't
"get in the way" with her. He's going to be here at the Cinegrill again in
October for several nights and I am looking forward to see who shows up in
the audience! Last time he was here I was surrounded by Brian Wilson, David
Paich, Henry Diltz and Johnny Rivers!
By the way, I think that Webb wrote most of his best songs during that
stretch in London. Art Garfunkel covered 11 of them on what I think is one
of the most gorgeous albums of all time, "Watermark" (wore out three tapes
of it). Garfunkel also covered Webb's knock-you-over "All I Know" which
I've heard was written about a love affair Webb had while in England.
