Hi everyone, Glad I came across this list. It seems fairly active and a good way to stay involved with the JS community. Big thanks to Rey & Asen for creating it.
I'm Derek Gathright and I'm an engineer at Yahoo. I spend my days working on Y! Entertainment properties doing both front-end and back-end work, but my real passion is front-end. I live in Santa Monica, CA and am a founder of SoCal.js, LA's JS meetup group (http://socaljs.com). You can find me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/derek and I occasionally blog at http://derekville.net. Everything else is linked to from http://derek.io. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, Hackdays, Beer.js events, and giving talks on the awesome developer tools Yahoo has to offer. To keep my skills fresh and my mind active, I read lots of programming books. My current fav is "7 Programming Languages in 7 Weeks", it's awesome. Go buy it. http://www.amazon.com/Seven-Languages-Weeks-Programming-Programmers/dp/193435659X Thanks again for the list. I look forward to the discussion. Happy scripting, Derek P.S. As I mentioned, I'm an organizer of SoCal.js, so if anyone is ever in the LA area and wants to give a talk on something, let me know. P.P.S. We're also hiring. My team is looking for someone who is great with JS, near LA, and wants to work on an exciting, high-priority project. Hit me up off-list for details.
