Hi all! First off, as everyone's said, thanks Rey and Asen. Second off, it's great to see all these big names in here - absolutely amazing. Just need to get Doug Crockford and David Flanagan in here and you'll have assembled all my JS heroes :)
My name's Nick Morgan, but I'm mainly known as Skilldrick online. I've been writing software for about two years. Before that I did a degree in sound engineering, and I'm currently working at a publishing company. I'm planning to leave publishing and go into some kind of dev work full time at the end of 2011. In the meantime I've started taking on some freelance work to get my name out there. Since I started, I've dabbled/worked in C++, Scheme, PHP, Python, Ruby, and of course JavaScript. JavaScript is the language I keep coming back to though - something about it just clicks with me. I answer a lot of JS questions on Stack Overflow, but I'm definitely not what you'd call an expert. I'm hoping to learn a lot from the true experts here. Chad Fowler said in The Passionate Programmer to "always be the worst guy in the band you're in", so I'm hoping I've found a place like that! I want to play with Canvas more, and I'd really like to start playing with Node.js when I have the time - I think it's the future. Looking forward to getting to know you all better! -- Nick Morgan http://skilldrick.co.uk @skilldrick <http://twitter.com/skilldrick> -- To view archived discussions from the original JSMentors Mailman list: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To search via a non-Google archive, visit here: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected]
