Is this a pronounced crackling, or something hiding in the noise floor?
And is it with w7 or certain motherboards?
Had pretty good luck with mine,
it's not for no reason they'd held their place for 12 years, but yes,
we need some new interfaces with accessible control pannels.
The profire 26 26\
is kind of a bust, I think most everyone is having more issues with
w7 drivers, naturally, it's first gen stuff.
I wanted it for protools access, but may be exchanging for a saphire,
or maybe an rme model, don't know yet.
Still working to resolve accessibility and functionallity issues.
But with a couple of 10 10 cards,
it's smooth sailing.

Deltas are PCI. What's more, as I've been testing new systems and such, I'm
finding issues with the deltas, where when using line inputs to record a
static noise (not humming, more like crackling) is apparent. Many people on
the m-audio forims have expereienced it, and we've led the causes to various
issues, so trying to see how this will hold up. I'm personally looking for
another unit myself, considering the saffire40, as I need more than 10
channels for some future projects..

Yep. With my cheap internal M-audio card, I can get the latency figure
reported by Sonar down to a shocking 2ms! That compares to 3.8MS which is
the absolute lowest I can achieve with my external Motu interface. But, the
other performance factors are drastically different - the Motu has far more
dynamic range, a lower noise floor, and overall clearer more accurate sound.
But, when I put a
Win7 system together, I'm definitely going to look for something with an
internal card for faster throughput!
Chris, is the Delta 1010 old PCI or newer PCI express?
