You can create a complete e-commerce system using JSP and servlets. As for
the credit card verfication process, there are algorithms to verify that a
number is valid, but to determine if the card is valid for the purchase, you
would have to be connected to visanet or a similar credit card authorization
system.

Hi everybody,
My question is, do i have everything i need within the jsp and java
servlets and java beans technologies to build an e-commerce site?
I know I can track the sessions of my customers, I can set up an SSL
connection for the secure data (credit card information), but how i
verify this credit car info? is there any java package out there that
does that?
Will I have to host this e-commerce site at home or there are isp's
that provide all i need for that, i.e., a servlet engine, a jsp engine,
database support...
