Hi, I have been using Tomcat 3.1 in windows 98. I did go through the
"readme" and "faq" file with tomcat again and again, and edited the
server.xml file. I have done everything as the readme file instructs. but
the servlet reloadble feature doesn't work. Maybe it is a bug. I notice that
the read me file said: This feature is experimental, and may not be
completely functional. Hope some one can fix it.
Anyone has the same experience.

Regards
Richard

Well, it depends on which version of Tomcat we're talking about. I've been
talking about Tomcat 3.1, and it supports reloading. Here's an excerpt from
the README:

4. NEW FEATURES IN THIS RELEASE

Many new features have been added to Tomcat since the 3.0 release. Among
the
most important are:
[...]
- Automatic servlet reloading when servlet classes are changed in
WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib/*.jar. This support can be configured
  on a per-web-application basis.
