Hello,

JUNOS is different from IOS - BGP session will stay up until holdtime fires but the protocol NH will disappear, the routes will be recalculated and network will reconverge even if BGP session to gone peer is still up.

I tested it many times.

Actually, if You configure "local-address", the behaviour is different - JUNOS declares the IP from gone interface is not available and tears down the session.

HTH

thx

Alex

Hey,

Just 1 line triggers/enables the INH on directly-connected eBGP peers:

set protocols bgp group ebgp neighbor 203.0.113.0 multihop
You will lose fast fall over though, eBGP session will remain up when
interface goes down, until hold-time passes. Unsure if solution exists
to gain both.
