Hello,

Well, I can only claim a bit of Native Americanness. My great grandma's great grandmother on my dad's side was a Potawotami Indian. Her husband, my freat-great-great however many times grandfather met her on a reservation in Ohio, I believe. Otherwise, my ancestors immigrated from many different places in Europe.

I've done my best to look up information about the Potawotami tribe. There seems to be a lot of history of them moving in the 17th century to avoid other Indian tribes, and they seem to have settled in villages of mixed tribes. Today it's primarily known for its tribal cassinos.

Speaking of disappeared civilizations, 9the Spiro people weren't ones I've heard of before, so that was really nifty to read about) I think the Anastazi people declined in their civilization because of climate, from what I've heard, but my dad watches these goofy TV shows and the last time I was there, he had something on that talked about disappeared divilizations like Atlantus and the Anastazi. Oo, maybe they were all aliens and left on a spaceship. lol

Mary and all,

Our history does stretch back several thousand years but
it's recording was problematic. There was apparently a huge
native settlement in what is today Southeastern Oklahoma. Google
for Spiro Mounds and read the first article that shows.
