I started using K-9 today. I have connected my 3 accounts on K-9 (2 hotmails, 1 gmail). Didn't do any manually setup to link them, just in the normal way. However I have noticed that I don't receive any notifications from hotmail, gmail works fine. When I receive an email to gmail, the notification on my phone immediately pops up. But when I receive an email to my 2 hotmails, nothing happens unless I will open the K-9 and will manually refresh/sync to check if there are new notifications.
Is there any way to make to receive hotmail notifications? I know that the "Folder poll frequency" can do that, however it's pretty annoying to see every minute "Checking mail:..." in my notification bar on my phone so I wanna know if there is any other way. If I set it to every minute, will it consume more battery usage? Also one question for security, is K-9 a server based mail client?
