Hello, recently I have installed K-9 in a friend's phone with Android, hoping that it would be easier to talk by email. Her account is @hotmail.com, and I have configured K-9 server settings myself (since she was initially unable to completely follow all the needed settings, although I have sent her).
I was also unable to get it completely working in her phone, correctly. Right now I have two problems: 1. IMAP server settings are correct, Internet conection is available, and all K-9 settings related to receiving messages (or so I think) are set. We choose to look for new mail every 10 minutes, and to play a sound. But more than 30 minutes passed without K9 checking the message I sent. Manually opening K9 and checking for new messages received my test message on the first try! Why isn't K-9 doing it alone? 2. SMTP settings are now working, although they are set with the correct and official values for a hotmail account. When I set (and now resetted a few times) SMTP settings no error is shown. But now there are 2 messages on the output box that are not sent. I choose the menu option to send the out messages, after a few seconds an error that ONLY says "some messages could not be sent". I recheck the SMTP settings, no problem is found but the situation does not change. What can I do here?? No clear error is shown, Internet connection is working fine (tested with browser, at least, at the same time we try with K-9), but K-9 can't send any message. Please give me clear instructions to find where the problem is or to make a nice message appear (more informative, as it wasn't much). Or where should I look for wrong settings (I've been familiar enough with computers and mail managers for years, the difficulty should not be related to this kind of problem).
