You may be correct Valerio.  Because I was looking at the Settings for 
Fetching email I interpreted the setting that way.  Re-Reading it now, I 
have to agree that the description seems to describe your interpretation 
more than mine.  So, I did not locate the appropriate setting to delete (or 
preserve) a server copy of email that is downloaded by POP3.  Thanks for 
pointing out the more appropriate description of the option I referred to.

For those like me who worry about preserving server copies of email, I can 
confirm by experience that by default the standard settings for a POP3 
client seem to have preserved all my emails when downloading.
