[plasmashell] [Bug 524178] Master volume always at max despite changing volume via the volume slider. Even if volume is a 1%, 15%, 50% etc master volume is always at max despite what volume is displayed as.

This is likely a driver issue with the audio controller.

But you also wrote "I can adjust the volume on Ubuntu but I have the opposite
issue with Gnome."

Can you clarify what this means?
