--- Comment #8 from Branislav Klocok <[email protected]> ---
Yes, that is what it predicts, so I tested it. I built v0.6.2.1 from the
upstream tag
against the Qt I have installed now (6.11.2), installed it into a private
prefix and ran
the minimal example from comment 0 against that build:

  cmake -S src -B build -G Ninja -DWITH_OPENCV=OFF
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$PREFIX
  ninja -C build install
  QML_IMPORT_PATH=$PREFIX/lib64/qml LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$PREFIX/lib64 qml6
repro.qml

OpenCV only affects the annotation blur, so disabling it does not touch
SelectionTool.
The running process mapped the rebuilt libKQuickImageEditor.so.0.6.2 and its
plugin, not
the system 0.7.0.1, and the installed qmldir keeps the prefer line, so the QML
came from
the copy compiled into the rebuilt library.

The handles are broken in the same way as with 0.7.0.1, and the session printed
the same
three loop warnings from qrc: paths (74 binding loops at
SelectionHandle.qml:64, 6 and 2
anchor loops at SelectionTool.qml:260 and :123).

So on this system 0.6.2.1 and 0.7.0.1 behave the same when both are built
against the
same Qt. The difference you saw after downgrading is most likely in how your
packaged
0.6.2.1 was built, not in the library code. Which part of the compiled QML is
responsible
I still have not narrowed down.
