Hi Nick, sorry I didn't get. You mean that button in the Footprint->3D settings preview? That "refresh" button.. is for Reload the preview board. For example if (lets say..) the footprint was changed or for example the 3D models (external files) were changed and need to be reloaded. It may be useful if someone is external editing the 3D files at same time that is making changes there.
