You mean that "Global AutoRouter" works for you after using
"Autoplace All Modules" ? I still get "File <anneal> not
found" :-( Presumably it's some external router program,
but where would this come from ?

By the way, is "autoplace" ever more than just a fancy way of
putting the components somewhere on the board so that they
can be picked up and manually moved to a useful place ?

For this purpose, wouldn't it be much more convenient if the
components ended up at roughly (*) the same relative
orientation as in the schematic ?

(*) I..e, the same, but overlapping components are separated.
