The reality of the intervention in Yugoslavia:
IMPERIALIST INTERVENTION BRINGS NO SOLUTION

Exactly a year has passed since the NATO intervention in Yugoslavia which
was directed by US imperialism and carried out by the European imperialists
amongst others. For a year the peoples of Yugoslavia, Serbs and Albanians,
have experienced yet more suffering on their own soil at the hands of the
occupation forces, who slaughter them, humiliate them, despise them,
subject their homes to undignified searches and treat them like criminals.
And today it is much more obvious to the peoples of Yugoslavia what
imperialist peace and democracy mean. Originally, NATO was supposed to be
bringing "peace" and "democracy" to the peoples of Yugoslavia, to liberate
them from the oppression of Albanians by Serbs. For this reason occupation
forces rained bombs on Yugoslavia. Nationalism greeted the forces of
occupation with applause. But now both Serbs and Albanians are involved in
clashes with the NATO troops while at the same time continuing to slaughter
one another. The results of imperialist intervention and nationalism are
clear for all to see.
NOTHING THAT IMPERIALISM DOES CAN BE IN THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLES, all
its policies serve its own interests, which are to open new markets for its
monopolies.
A year ago we declared, "In order to weaken these countries and force them
to their knees, imperialism uses the policy of 'divide and rule' to provoke
splits in the countries there along national and religious lines."
And it was precisely this that Yugoslavia experienced.
In the name of the new world order, everywhere in the world imperialism
attacks, drops bombs, murders and whips up conflicts among the peoples, in
order to crush the struggles of the peoples and create new markets for
itself.
Tonnes of bombs were dropped on the people of Iraq and Iraq's land was
partitioned. In the Balkans the peoples were stirred up against each other
and then Yugoslavia too was partitioned.
Now imperialism wants to do the same thing in the Caucasus. It tries to
take over control by whipping up national and religious conflicts among the
peoples of the Caucasus and building enfeebled states. The oligarchy of
Turkey is also implicated in this game.
It is an accomplice in all imperialism's interventions. Whether you are
religious, "democrats" or Kurdish nationalists, those of you who applauded
the intervention in Yugoslavia; here you have the democracy and the peace
of imperialism. Blood, tears, massacres
The peoples must not become involved in this game. They must not allow the
imperialists to stir them up against each other, split them and break them
into fragments.

THE LIBERATION OF THE PEOPLES LIES IN A JOINT STRUGGLE AGAINST IMPERIALISM.
