(Forwarded) DERRY IRSP STATEMENT LOYALIST FEUD - IRSP URGE VIGILANCE THE IRSP urge nationalists living near loyalist areas to exercise vigilance during the next few weeks at the very least. This follows attacks on cars in Currynerin at the weekend. Again loyalism has decided to attack nationalists because they are under attack from themselves. Loyalism has shown in the past that the best way to deflect attacks on themselves is to go on the rampage against innocent and isolated nationalists. The posturing during the past few weeks by Johnny Adair was designed to instil fear into the nationalist community across the six counties, but more especially in the greater Belfast area. Nationalists living in and around Derry should remain vigilant because there are those loyalists in this area who would see themselves in the same light as Johnny Adair. There have been loyalist prisoners recently released from Long Kesh who are aligned to the LVF/UDA who would not hesitate in killing more innocent nationalists to deflect attention from loyalism. The IRSP would also question the motives of people like William Hay and Chris McGimpsey who announced that loyalists attacking loyalists was not the way forward. By implication they were saying that this is not what loyalism is about. We have to ask these people to explain what they believe loyalism is about. Is it about Greysteel or Loughinisland? Is loyalism justified in killing nationalists but not justified when they attack each other? ENDS --------------------------------------------------------------------<e|-
