Acharya: aim of ISDP is not only to deploy army. KATHMANDU Defence Minister Mahesh Acharya today said that use of army to combat Maoist insurgency is not the only purpose of Integrated Security and Development Package. Speaking at a program in the capital today, Minister Acharya said, "the main purpose of ISDP is to combat violence and terrorism so that development works can be carried out in different parts of the kingdom." He said, "ISDP comprises everything that is needed for the overall development of a nation." Minister Acharya dismissed speculations saying that ISDP hinders talks between the government and Maoists.
