I apologize for overly using acronyms.
OTR is widely known in instant messaging referring to Off The Record.
OTR is built-in to many many instant messaging clients: Gaim, Trillian, Adium, et cetera. And for those clients is not built-in to, it ought to be.
I love KDE & Kopete & want to not use any other software but am in a jam since the only other way to use OTR with an IM client is to proxy the client ,through an OTR proxy, which can work but stinks just in general, but that is not possible for Kopete either since Kopete uses proxy settings taken from the greater KDE environment, instead of its own, which would mean that we would be sending all traffic through the OTR proxy, which would break other app's. Kopete has accidentally jammed us on this one. Temporarily. I hope.
