I never implied otherwise.
However, none of those things can be done as easily, as quickly, and as simply using Linux as they can be done using Access.

I prefer to spend my time, which is a limited resource, learning tools
that are open in spirit and fact.

I'm happy for ya.
That does not change the fact that Linux has nothing like Access, and a lot of people out there use Access and hence cannot switch to Linux.
