Your objection, does point out one big annoyance of websites that use
javascript (or frames) for navigation -- you can't bookmark (or email)
the desired page, only the entry page. Ugh.
Only because of bad design.
One Javascript site that was like that had an "Update to URL..." button.
Effectively, you used the interactive mode to put things the way you
wanted, and then the URL was changed to reflect your state so that you
could get back to it. You could get to the same state without
Javascript, it was just a lot more annoying.
It was a nice way of handling the "Javascript breaks state" problem.
Too bad Google didn't get the memo ...
And I do include sites that don't function without Javascript to be
*broken*, period. You have to show me that you can design a website
without Javascript before I allow you to use it.
