I had a similiar reaction to lokkit, and then I went and found /etc/default/lokkit ...and I've been a bad boy and just editing that file directly. When labor-saving devices cause more work than they save, they fail. I need to take a few minutes to nail down the sudo rule that would let me do an "iptables -L" without a password, and then put that in my .login file.
