It replaced the Pentium M brand used for earlier mobile processors with the same microarchitecture..." and then, down thqa page at #Advantages_and_shortcomings, "..no 64-bit (EM64T) support" and "..For these reasons, some consider Core to be a temporary stopgap measure, bridging the brief interregnum between the Pentium M series and the 64-bit Intel Core 2 CPUs" sounds disappointing -- but maybe I'm misreading??? I also note that one t2300 specsheet I saw says socket 479, which w'pedia ids as that used in Pentium-M (is is likely that Pentium-M MoBos and chipsets are 64bit?)
