I also note that one t2300 specsheet I saw says socket 479, which w'pedia ids as that used in Pentium-M (is is likely that Pentium-M MoBos and chipsets are 64bit?)
Thanks, I dug into the Intel site a bit deeper and found similar information. Oh well, at least the laptop manufacturer says that the CPU can be upgraded to core 2 duo mobile (as soon as I can get one) with a BIOS upgrade. 32 bits it is, for now.
