Umm, no. I don't think I've ever replaced a hard drive other than when I get rid of the entire box. SO every 4 years or so.

Still, this is only going to cause problems. People can't remember passwords enough as it is, now it'll cause entire laptops to go bad rather than requiring a db change. Its going to be more of a pain than a solution.

Dumbass people maybe. But this is not necessarily a solution suitable for or aimed at *all* users. There are likely many good and considered reasons many intelligent and organized people, who are quite capable of managing the associated risks, might think this a good thing.
