Still, this is only going to cause problems. People can't remember passwords enough as it is, now it'll cause entire laptops to go bad rather than requiring a db change. Its going to be more of a pain than a solution.

Dumbass people maybe. But this is not necessarily a solution suitable for or aimed at *all* users. There are likely many good and considered reasons many intelligent and organized people, who are quite capable of managing the associated risks, might think this a good thing.


90% of all people are dumbasses, and I'm probably being kind. Yes, there's probably a few uses where its good (say, government laptops with top secret info). For the average corporate drone, much less the home user, its not necessary and will cause more problems than it solves IMO.
