Not to beat this horse any deader, but could "acquiesce" be a spell
checker munging of a slightly mispelled "access"?
I spell-check the old-fashioned way: proof-read before I hit send, fix
any mistakes I see. I get too annoyed with things that give me false
positives (this includes spam filters and spell-checkers, among other
things).
