I know this wasn't directed toward me but I'll comment as if it was.
I don't like death (as my wife says, it sucks), but have no fear of it
and I'm certainly not worried about it.
I decided as a child growing up in a christian household that going
through what I saw my parents and their churchgoing friends go through
wasn't worth the trouble for the benefit they saw, much less for any
benefit I could see.
My parents' god didn't and doesn't pass my own personal reasonableness
test, nor do any others I've heard about. If it turns out any of these
gods are real, and I have seen no evidence that any are, I'll probably
have to deal with it someday. In the meantime I'll live my life based on
what I do perceive as real.
