they're probably doing much more upfront research on who they go after
these days. Ernie Ball got way out in the public to explain how they were
strong armed into paying for what was found. Then the big ones were the
school systems which were getting hammered by Microsoft/BSA until the
LTSPK12 folks helped a few schools go 100% Linux and save money too.
It also happened at a time just before a national school system conference
and a good number of sessions were on the Microsoft/BSA tactics, the
threats, the costs, and the solution, which was Linux and OSS. Microsoft
almost lost a huge percentage of the US school systems but backed off
to save themselves from it. Unfortunately, those schools then just continue
hoping the BSA does not come back.

After these things, it's been pretty quiet in the press with regards to who
the BSA is going after. Another reason could be the use of contractual NDA's
which prevent companies like Earnie Ball from publicly stating the facts
of the case. What ever it is, we're not hearing much about these
bullying tactics any more.
