The "Not including USB..." comment was regarding my comment about VirtualBox
having remote USB capability at the remote client management PC and the fact
that this is not available on the free and open source version of VirtualBox.

As far as a Windblows VMware host goes and USB, did you tell Windows to leave
the USB device alone( release it ) and then see if VMware could grab the USB
device? With a Linux host, it's best to tell the host to do-nothing when auto
mounting
etc occurs on hotplug devices.
