Oh! Right! A text editor that binds backspace to "pop open a new window
full of help messages." I'd forgotten that misfeature. :-)
M-x gives you access to the command mini buffer, something that is
explained in the first two pages of the Emacs tutorial.
Oh. OK. So "M-x help" is exactly like ":help", only with a different
character to get you into the command mini buffer. Got it. :-)
(I *did* use Emacs for about 5 years. Went back to VI.)
