And almost always should be used with a manual transmission parked on a
hill (automatic too, for that matter).

And, thank God, I've never had my hydraulic brake system fail me.

And in most situations, even emergency situations, using a foot pedal
emergency brake can be dangerous, possibly more dangerous than riding it
out.
