I think that this would be exactly the wrong way to approach things. The transition would royally suck ass. Think about it. If that's going to be the way it gets played, I'll pay for KPLUG memberships for the current SDMUG people in SDCS board seats simply to ease the transition, so that they can continue to do what they're doing until such time as new elections can be held to replace them (in June?) The current SDCS board doesn't turn into a pumpkin the instant they accept notification that SDMUG is disbanding as an SDCS SIG. And it shouldn't, either, as that would be a VERY BAD THING for SDCS as a whole to suddently have a power vacuum. We want the transition to be planned and low-stress. The SDMUG people are willing to stay on for a transition period, I a believe they would be ameniable to scheduling a special election to replace them. Really, had we learned about the desire to split from SDCS before the last general elections (you know, when Carl and Lan were put on the board), a lot of this wouldn't be much of an issue. And, I regret that it's taken this shit to get me interested in helping SDCS in a higher capacity. We need to move forward, without stabbing those in our way. Gregory -- Gregory K.
