1. If you don't find another way to hand-off the books, I will be glad to work something out. Give me a call (278)-4099. 2. If no one objects, I will coordinate the August 10th meeting program. I will volunteer one 15-minute presentation, and try to drum up commitments for more. My thinking is that we want to try a variety of short, shallow depth topics with the idea of hitting interest, usefulness, and understandability sweetspots of a broad audience. I was proposing a 15 minute "express howto" format, but that's just a suggestion. More words to follow.. 3. What's the status of projection equipment for Annex-C. Was last month someone's personal projector? Seem like we just gotta have a projector for presentations, eh? This seems like a *high priority* issue. 3a. Maybe we should talk more about getting a kplug projector. If the only obstacle is having someone take responsibility for storing and hauling it, I would do that for a while. 3b. What would be neat is a portable compact system, which would add another $500+ to the cost, I suppose -- but that could be considered later. Maybe we could start a design brainstorming page on wiki. 3c. For immediate consideration, if we _need_ a projector, and have _money_, and have _consensus_ that we should buy one, then who knows about specs and good deals. If needed, could we get one before August 10? 3d. My thought on specs is: - 1024x768 miniumum - spare bulb - video cables (and adapters? -- eg dvi?) 3e. But, what about: - brand-name, reliability - brightness specs? - what else? ..jim -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-steer
