Jeff Scott's suggestion of lead shot in epoxy flox / or equivalent eliminates all the "CAUTIONS" expressed on "melting lead". It works. I did my elevator counterbalance using that method.
I'm not sure if small shot with tighter spacing or larger shot is best for a smaller over all weight of the same size. My guess is smaller shot.
