We've been discussing wing strength. Here is a photo of the unfortunate remains of a KR that suffered an engine out on climb out and the attempted turn back to the airport. It went in to a wooded area just a few hundred yards lateral the numbers on the departure end of the runway. The WAF's were still intact with the portion of the spar material they were attached to. If you zoom to the lower right of the photo you will see how the spar material simply ripped apart in tension load it appears. I thought I had photos of the WAF's but can't find them. I recall Mark Langford saw them also and may have photos as he has photos of most everything that has crossed his path. This was in the spring of 2008 if you're looking Mark. Unfortunately our bodies are not as strong as the structure so don't try this at home. I don't like loosing friends in this manner.
