If you foam and glass the gap, then cut with a fine saw blade, you could
easily cover the 1/16" or less gap with white electrical tape. That
only leaves the larger hole at the wing attach fittings, top and
bottom. Make a small cover for that area, top and bottom, attach some
type of hold down to the bottom side of the top wing cover and extend it
down and through the bottom cover to secure both. Some builders just
glass the entire gap shut and don't worry about it again until they have
to remove the wings. Right Mark?
