That Gathering very nearly did not take place as it was scheduled to
happen just a week or two after the 911 tragedy and the airspace was
opened up just days before the event. I remember that trip in the
Tripacer seeing two or three C130's in loose formation east of Little
Rock trailing their plum of dark exhaust on their way in to Little Rock
at what seemed to be my exact altitude. Oh, the memories...............
