I had the weirdest radio problem one time - would be flying and when I got into
the pattern - my PTT would show on the radio (even though I was not pushing the
button!). A LOT of rewiring (on a certified plane so very $$$$) and turned
out to be a piece of metal vibrating cover panel on the instruments!!! (so I
had a screw loose!!! 😉 ) No other A&P figured it out (of course I had to
pay them for all their attempts - even though it did not solve the problem....)
- and I went to an old guy that also rebuilds old tube radios and amps...
(also an aviator) - found the problem in 5 min...

Hopefully you discover what is happening with yours - I would start by checking
your nuts.  And screws.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This problem developed from a perfectly working system so I'm guessing
it is a component failure or poor connection in the system. I'll know
more tomorrow.
