Rich:
In addition to things that others have noted:
Pro:
1. Putting the fax IN the system allows logging incoming and
outgoing length of calls and numbers.
The first time my wife's business was able to confirm (via a
20+ minute call) the fax report which said that 35 pages were sent
vs. the people at the receiving end saying that they only received
the cover page, the receiving end covered a very large trading error
that paid for the phone system >5 times.
2. Using two fax machines for outgoing transmissions can be
extremely useful.
Con:
1. Fax machines use modems. Some of the faster fax machines
which use a 33.6 KBPS Modem to achieve 3 seconds/page will be limited
to 24-28 KBPS or so through the KX-TD1232, unless you have ISDN-BRI,
T1 or ISDN-PRI into the KX-TD system.
2. One does have to dial 9 (or 81, 82, ...88) to select a line
in a line group before each number, just as for any phone in the
system. However (contrary to some of the posts), our experience for 6
years is that one does NOT have to configure a delay, The KX-TD12132
receives the number and buffers enough so that there are no lost
digits even from a fax auto-dialer (at least from HP fax machines.)
