I had to assist one company that risked loosing $90-MILLION due to what they
thought was a fax error!

This is partly true, my customer who had trouble with the 9 already had a
huge number of fax speeddials programmed into their fax machine. They did
not want to have to reprogram the machine with all new numbers (adding a 9).
That is what they had to do eventually.
